Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/S@-LEEn@ GOHmez was born on the 22nd of July 1992. She is an American singer, actress and producer. Gomez began her acting career in 2002 in the television show for children Barney & Friends. In her teens her fame grew for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez was also a part of several films that included Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) as well as Spring Breakers (2012). She was also a voice actor for Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez executive produced the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu mystery-comedy show Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). The latter earned Gomez not only praise from the critics but also nominations for a Golden Globe Award, and as a producer as well as an Primetime Emmy Award .Gomez released three albums with her former group, Selena Gomez & the Scene and the Scene, which all reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and Sun goes down (2011).
